Pick-up-and-play mobile games are a treasure for people who want something to make time pass faster while they commute or wait in line somewhere. They are often easy to learn, difficult to master, and easy to pick up.
Helix Jump is a prime example of this phenomenon. It is a simple Android game where you basically rotate the scene in order to allow the ball to fall downwards. The only thing you should avoid is basically everything oddly-colored.
Falling through many sets of obstacles at once grants you bonus points and eventually even accelerates the ball to become immune to obstacles for a while. Falling on the bottom of the scene passes the level and advances to the next one. There is also a speed power-up you can pick up in order to accelerate downwards.
The game is addictive to say the least and it just runs so smooth which is definitely something enjoyable. After you fail, you can either start from the beginning or you can watch a video in order to get a second chance.
The game could use a social aspect to compare your high score among friends. If you don't want to pay for the game, we advise you to play the game with your Internet connection turned off because of the ads, which can be quite annoying since they interrupt you almost each time you fail a level.
Since some levels can be failed quite quickly, you will have to watch ads as much as you are actually playing. Since the game doesn't need an active Internet connection to do anything, simply turn it off to really enjoy the game. Still, you will probably find that it gets quite dull after a while as levels or the gameplay doesn't really change throughout the game.
